Questo blog nasce dalla mia passione per il recupero e la decorazione di vecchi oggetti in stile country e con la tecnica decoupage.
Con questo spazio web vorrei dare vita ad un laboratorio virtuale, una bottega artigianale, in cui incontrare chi coltiva la mia stessa curiosità nello sperimentare queste tecniche di decorazione ma anche chi vuole accogliere nella sua casa uno dei miei lavori.
Gli oggetti che recupero per il restauro e la decorazione li raccolgo dai rigattieri o nei mercatini di antiquariato e li decoro, dopo averli puliti e riparati, per restituire loro una nuova vita ed un nuovo utilizzo.
Sono oggetti fatti in legno o in ferro ed erano destinati all’uso quotidiano come ad esempio: cassapanche, bacinelle, annaffiatoi, teiere, paraventi, lavandini da camera, e molti altri ancora.
Nonostante siano oggetti di recupero, hanno il fascino delle cose fatte per durare: basta guardare le finiture di un modesto secchio di latta o di una bacinella per lavare il bucato per poter capire con quanta armonia le mani di un artigiano possano creare non solo oggetti utili ma anche belli.
La scelta del nome Meta’ è significativa, la traduzione dal termine greco é “andare al di là”, in questo caso del tempo, e recuperare oggetti che siano ancora utili e duraturi; una filosofia molto distante da quella “usa e getta” adottata nella produzione degli ultimi anni e dalla quale molti di noi iniziano a prendere le distanze con la scelta di un consumo più responsabile nei confronti della salute e dell’ambiente.

The objects for the
restoration and decoration are recycle and cheapest: I buy this things from junk
shops or antique markets and after I clean, repair and decorum them. In this
way the objects have a new life.
They are made of
wood or iron, and were intended for daily use such as: chests, trays, watering
cans, teapots, screens, sinks chamber, and many others.
Despite being
recycled objects tell us about a lifestyle different from the frenzy that we
experience every day, through the charm of things made to last. Just look at
the details of a small tin bucket or a basin to wash the laundry for understand
how much passion the hands of a craftsman can create not only beautiful but
also useful items.
The choice of
name META' is significant, etymologically means "to go beyond", in
this case “to go beyond the time”, and recover objects that are still useful and
long-lasting; a philosophy far from "disposable" adopted in the
production of recent years, and from which many of us are starting to distance
themselves with the choice of a more responsible consumption to health and the
environment.
